erin and the incredible kace

let us introduce to you to our 4charity momma, erin, and her little kace:

in 2010 kace was diagnosed with acute lymphoblasitc leukemia.
he's a very brave little guy and you can read all about his journey and his courage here.
erin is a shining example of what it means to live with grace and optimism through extremely challenging times.
and we're so lucky to have her on our team!

for our project this month she's planned something a little different and very special for us to do.
a friend of hers has a daughter who was going through chemo at the same time as kace.
she was in the maintenance stage and unfortunately they discovered that she had relapsed.  she now has to go in for a bone marrow transplant.

i think only moms who have been through a similar situation, like erin, could possibly imagine how difficult this must be.  erin knew her friend could use a little love and encouragement so she's arranged for our team to spend a day, cleaning her house, the yard, planting flowers, leaving notes, bringing goodies and home made dinners to freeze, and a few other lovely things...

erin calls each of us moms  'warrior mothers' and i love it. i think that's what we need to be. mothers taking care of each other. i hope we can always be aware of others around us and when they might need a little extra love and encouragement. even the little things can make a big difference.

"too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around."

please remember to send positive thoughts and love to little millie and her family this week!

thank you!
love, the 4charity team
